Billy Harkin Chairman
Billy is an Irish national, Mechanical Engineer and entrepreneur with 30 years Private and Public sector experience in technology and economic development. He has led on the creation and launch of 10 technology companies including Kymata: With Billy on the Board of the start-up it climbed to a US$1.2b valuation within 30 months. Billy has transacted over 40 technology licence deals with international companies in the telecom, aerospace, software, electronics, medical-devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology sectors. Paul Bryant Executive Director
Paul has 35 years oil, gas and power experience with BP and GDF Suez. Paul is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Paul held a number of senior executive roles predominantly in the origination and management of significant joint ventures spanning the upstream, midstream and also downstream businesses. His international career has included time spent in London, Aberdeen, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, India, UAE, North America and Australia.
Dr. Moe Thuzar Executive Director
Dr Moe is a Myanmar national and lived in the UK for 25 years before returning to Myanmar in 2013. Changing career from a medical doctor, she obtained her MBA in Scotland and then worked in Public Sector Economic Development, Technology Transfer, IPR-Management and High-Tech-Start-Ups. Moe is a co-founder of QucomHaps, Max Consensus Pte Ltd and also the Not-For-Profit NGO -The EU Myanmar Centre (EUMC). The EUMC bridges cultural and commercial gaps between EU and Myanmar SMEs in a broad range of commercial and industrial sectors.
Lewis Jeffery Major Projects Director
Lewis, an Australian, is a Mechanical Engineer with 30 years industry experience where he has been involved in the design, construction and operations of refineries and other oil and gas facilities. Lewis has acted as Works General Manager of a large petrochemical facility in West Java and he was TNK BP’s Major Projects and Engineering Manager in Moscow for 5 years.
Seamus Glynn CFO
Seamus is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience, mainly in infrastructure sectors. Before joining QucomHaps and subsequently Energize Myanmar, he spent 9 years as CFO of LAN a Telecom Italia company based in Ireland. He was responsible for establishing the LAN group of 14 companies spread throughout Latin America, USA, Ireland and Luxembourg. Prior to that Seamus was Treasury Manager and Finance Manager. Seamus started his career with several years at Halliburton Energy Co.
Howard Miller Director – LNG
Howard has delivered 53 Master Trading LNG framework agreements for Centrica business development initiatives since late 2007. These have covered producing and delivery markets including the Far East, Australia, Middle East, Norway, US, South America, India, Russia and Western Europe. Howard’s most recent LNG activity for Centrica was creating the Heads Of Agreement for the supply of LNG from the US Sabine Pass liquefaction offtake position to an international LNG trading house. Howard joined Centrica in 1989 and now heads LNG Supply Development for Energize Myanmar.
Mike Cloud Commercial Director
Mike has a 40 year Energy sector related career (BP and GDF Suez) working in Commercial and Technical leadership roles. Mike’s career has predominantly focused on the downstream - responsible for the operation of Refineries and associated Power Generation in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. Mike also has deep sector experience in European Trading, Supply and Commercial organisations.
Lin Thandar Aung General Manager
Since obtaining her Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s qualification in the UK Lin has worked in Myanmar, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia. As an Operations Manager and Chief Accountant Lin has worked at various Technology, Financial and HR companies. Lin has been involved in the facilitation of trade and investment between European countries and Myanmar - she enjoys a mixed culture and unorthodox broad experience. Lin joined Energize Myanmar in April 2014 and she heads key operations from the Yangon Office.
Georgine Roodenrys Environmental Policy
Georgine has a Masters in Energy & Resources Law from the University of Melbourne and has worked for Origin Energy, BP and Santos where her focus has been the successful development of low carbon power value chains. Georgine directed an industry consortium to deliver the $85 million Adelaide Solar City. Additionally Georgine was the Policy and Communications Manager for BP Hydrogen Power on their 400MW power project with Masdar in the United Arab Emirates.
Steve Napier Lead Project Finance
Steve has over 20 years energy and infrastructure experience in strategy development, identifying opportunities, project development and project acquisitions. Steve led on projects for Marubeni to explore infrastructure investment opportunities including the CSG to LNG sector and the Power Sector in Australia. Steve also assisted Marubeni develop an $8 billion power and water portfolio in the Middle East; bidding and managing transactions through to financial close, particularly commercial structuring and negotiations.
